Speakers Popping

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T400s. My speakers create a popping, buzzing sound when music or videos are played, but the sound is not audible when headphones are used. I have the latest drivers updated. Is there a simple solution to fix this, or do I need to seek professional help?
