Strange issue with ThinkPad Power Manager v.6.07. I have two ThinkPads, a T61 and E420. Both were running PMGR v.3.66 when System Update signaled that there was an update. Here is when things started getting strange. In both machines, the installation by System Update had no issues and then there was the customary reboot. After reboot (both machines), I noticed that the Power Manager version was still 3.66! I checked System Update and it indicated that v. 6.07 had been installed (both machines) which was not true.
I then thought that maybe the old v.3.66 had to be removed before installing v.6.07. Bad move! After removing 3.66 and then installing 6.07 both machines rebooted and I confirmed that v.6.07 had been succesfuly installed! All was good until I tried to shutdown both machines, they would not shut down and stayed at the Windows "Shutting Down" message forever. I forced the shutdown after more than 10 minutes and restarted with no issues. I then tried to shutdown again with the same results. I really cannot blame my hardware or configuration for this behavior since it is happening on 2 machines that are generations apart with totally different hardware. The only thing in common is Windows 7 x64.
I have reversed to v 3.66 in both machines and everything is back to normal now.
Has anyone else experienced this??
