Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.
I work for a University as a Student technician, and we were looking to change our inspection process of incoming used laptops.
We used to run a HDD diagnostic test through the BIOS on all laptops but we were looking for a more complete test and started using Lenovo System Toolbox Full System Test instead.
I noticed that I was seeing very few failures so I went back to the old BIOS HDD test and 2 out of 11 of the laptops that passed the Lenovo test failed the HDD test after about 5-10 minutes. (Error Code 0000)
Are the toolbox tests less reliable?
I haven't tried a bootable System Toolbox yet. Would I get more reliable results through a bootable?
Is there a better option for diagnosing hardware problems?
Thanks so much for your help!

Welcome to lenovo user forums!
You can try an alternative method of using the Ultimate boot CD(Contains a set of bootable diagnostics). It alerted me when my old HDD was about to fail.

I would more rely on the testing results, from the BIOS as this test is testing more the Hardware option of the HDD. And once there is an issue with the HDD detected in this part, it might be possible to use the system but you can encounter some BSOD's and other kind of unexpected behaviour, so I would surelly think about replacing the HDD.
Pelase feel free to ask any other question. Will be glad to give you some thoughts
