Since a while System Update does not update anymore my W520. It says: "There are not applicable packages found for your system". I installed latest update (4.03.0012) after deleting old installation. Nothing change.
In log file C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\logs\tvsu_log_*.txt The first error says:
"The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm"
The only possible cause is that windows update installed .NET Framework 4. I don't think I could go back to 1.1 or 2 as noted in the download page for system update. If this is the cause, is it possible to make "System Update" work in this configuration?
The logs directory zip file is on ftp://ftp.cscs.ch/out/mvalle/logs2.zip
Thanks for your help!

I cannot install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 because the installer says that it is already installed.
Seems that System Update should be made compatible with framework 4.
Thanks for your help!

I don't believe your issue is related to .Net versions. From a quick scan of your log files it appears that your client configuration is preventing System Update from making an HTTPS request to Lenovo's content server.
Do you have any personal firewall software installed? If so make sure there is an application exception for System Update.
Also try making https://download.lenovo.com a trusted site in Internet Options of IE.

Thanks, but no way.
I have only Windows firewall enabled and there is an exception for tvsu.exe tvsukernel.exe tvsucommandlauncher.exe and UNserver.exe. Also I have notifications enabled and I receive no request to unblock a program from the firewall. Any other idea?
Thanks!

Any idea? Turning the firewall off does not change the outcome.
Also the file https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/th
Thanks for looking!
