Mine is also working, which confirms the problem was with the Lenovo server.

T420s 4171-6WU is failing here. I called support but they had no idea what to do and were unwilling to consider that their server was messed up. The error says "[an error with the package catalog ON the System Update SERVER]."
They wanted me to install the ThinkVantage Toolbox to do the updates (which I did) but this program only calls up the TVSU. Then they wanted me to factory restore despite all of your comments that this did not solve the issue. I have two machines of this type with the same problem while about 60 other T420 (two different models) and X220 systems are working just fine.

I would just wait until they fix their server. Until then, you can download updates manually based on your machine type.

I'm having the same problem and it is delaying our system build SLA significantly. Lenovo needs to fix this immediately.

Are we going to get a response and solution from Lenovo? This is unacceptable

A refresh of the content on the servers was done last night. Can anyone that was receiving the "An error was detected with the package catalog for your system..." error message please try TVSU now and let us know the results?

Yes, it's been corrected.

I think the most bothersome aspect of this whole ordeal is when we call Lenovo for support on this issue, they deny that the issue is on their end, and then suggest reloading the TVSU client program, etc., etc. Why can't the Lenovo techs be trained to know that problems do exist on your update server and not to automatically send customers on a "wild goose chase"?

Hi I have a Edge 11 and I also got the same error. What I discover is once I turn off Microsoft Security Essentials Real time protection, then the update works. Hope this helps. All the best!
