System update hangs at installing packages stage

T60, System Update version 3.14.0017 packages detected, packages download. However, application hangs at first package installation no matter which update is first.

This also happened on previous installation of System Update.

System Update application will not close, Microsoft error reprt information:

szAppName : tvsukernel.exe szAppVer : 3.0.23.0 szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

Please could someone help troubleshoot this issue?

Not a solution, but similar problem.

After having installed System Update 3.14 on my impeccable R40, I ran the program to find what updates were recommended.  Then I got unhelpful error message "An error occured while downloading packages", at the 17% download point.  Program stopped with no options at that point. No help in Help.

Same story with repeated attempts.

Any and all advice welcomed.

I get a similar problem on my X60t. I updated System Update to 3.14.0017 and now whenever I try to "Get new updates" the application hangs during the "Installing packages" stage while installing the first package. I tried changing the order of packages which didn't work. I tried letting it run overnight overnight and it was still at "Installing packages" in the morning. I had to end the task to close it down. Any help would be great. Thanks!
