Hi
The recent update of TVSU to 4.03.0012 appears to have broken support for my 4173CTO.
The relevant message from the TVSU log file shows that a 4173CTO is no longer considered a Lenovo system! ![]()

I haven't heard of this issue before, and TVSU is working on my 4173.
I recommend uninstalling it, rebooting, and then installing again.

Hi
Thanks - but unfortunatley after doing an uninstall, reboot and re-install exactly the same happens.
The error in the log appears to indicate that the model number is no longer recognized as a valid model.
Could it be the CTO suffix after 4173?
- Note that prior to the update 4.03.0012 of TVSU it worked fine.

Please look in the registry at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Lenovo\Sys
there should be a value called "vendor"
please tell me what it is set to.

Hi - The value for that registry key is 'UNDEFINED' - Below are all the values there - Hope it helps

Well you have found the problem, that value should be THINK, not UNDEFINED.
Tell me more about your configuration. Are you using a Lenovo preload, or did you install Windows yourself?
If you installed Windows yourself, are you in UEFI/GPT mode?

Hi
It's a Lenovo pre-load Windows 7 x64.
The TVSU was working fine right up to the last update (V4.0.03.0012) - which was auto installed. So something changed during the update - which a clean re-install of TVSU also doesn't appear to solve.
the 'CTO' siffix on my machine just indicates it was a custom configuration when bought off the Lenovo site (ie Optimus graphics, extra memory - nothing particulalry special).

CTO is not the problem. Most end-user systems are CTO and as far as I know you are the only person reporting this problem with the latest version of TVSU. The problem is something else.
Did you try changing that registry entry to THINK?

Thanks - changing the registry entry to THINK did the trick. Doens't explain why it was set to UNDEFINED - but it's working again.
Thanks for your help.
