TVSU "Error detected with the package catalog"

 Hello Lenovo Support Team,

 

I have another quirky error message on an older machine I'm working on today, a Lenovo ThinkPad T500.

Upon opening ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU), I get an error stating the following:

 

"An error was detected with the package catalog for your system on the System Update Server.  Please contact the Support Center."

 

Any advice would be most appreciated, and in the past your help was grandiose and extremely helpful.

The issue seems to have resolved itself after multiple restarts and updating other (unrelated) software.  Thanks anyways, guys!  You're the best!

This error is typically seen right after the TVSU catalogs have been updated and the Akamai Edge servers are still holding cached content. A purge was done yesterday afternoon which is probably what cleared it up for you. If you see this error again, try again the next day and it should usually be cleared up.
