Do you have IE7 installed? If so, I would suggest you to update the RnR to the latest version as it has some issues with IE7.

Hello,
please uninstall Zone Alarm and get your Windows in a normal Condition.
Disable all customized featuere like blinds or themes and disable all Antivirus.

I have done a complete fresh install of XP. I've even deleted the IBM Preload partition but I'm still getting this. I have no firewall or anti virus running.

It's probably worth noting that I am also constantly getting a BSOD (blue screen of death) error.

for the error message: "ia.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"
exit System Update
Rename IA.exe.config to IA.exe.config.old
restart System Update

Thanks renaming the "ia.exe.config" seemed to work for me.

Found this thread in a google search, and worked on a brand new out of the box thinkcenter as well.
Thanks!
