ThinkVantage System Update service won't start

Hi,

I've updated TVSU to version 4.0.3 and I can't start it since. When I try to start it from Start Menu, splash screen appears but nothing happens. I checked the System Update service and it's not started. When I try to start System Update service, message appears that says "Windows could not start the System Update service on Local Computer. Error 193: 0xc1". In System log there's an error:

The System Update service failed to start due to the following error:
System Update is not a valid Win32 application.

Event id: 7000.

On the other hand, I can start TvsuKernel.exe manually and the System Update windows appears after a while... Can someone help? Or at least explain what's happening with TVSU service?

Thank you in advance,

Petar

Try changing the System Update service to Automatic Start if it is set to Automatic Start (Delayed) then reboot. Immediately after rebooting, check the service and see if it is started. If it is, see if System Update will launch properly.

Re: ThinkVantage System Update service won't start

Hello,

I've found a solution - after Visual C++ Redistributable installation there was a "c:\program" text file with logs of that installation. After deleting that file, TVSU service was able to be started.

Petar
