Windows 7 Ultimate, TP61/p 6459-CTO TVToolBox V60.5692.08
The FAQ states that the tool is not a startup item, yet it is obviously running in the background because I get ToolBox messages pushed. They are mostly advertising. For the past week I get a gold box saying Lenovo has 3 important messages, yet when I open the application there are no messages. I have all 3 communication options un-checked.
I like some of the tools in the app, but I do not want these notifications nor do I want the active communication with Lenovo, and could someone explain how I'm getting these push notices if the app is not supposed to be running on startup.
Is my only option to uninstall it, or is there a way to control it?

deactivate online support should stop the ads
Thanks for the reply, but as I said in my original post, "I have all 3 communication options un-checked."
That means
Are all not checked.
Yet I get daily notices that there are no problems with my computer and daily notices that I have messages waiting. And, to repeat, the messages are blank. So... to repeat, how is this happening in an app that claims to not load at startup? It's obviously inventorying my computer and also calling home to Lenovo to download messages and ads.

maybe that just works for some I don't get ad messages try unchecking the 4th box enable scheduled hardware check
No joy either. Of the four check boxes, none are checked. Got the same gold colored pop-up about messages and the same "No important message updates" message. And I still got the green "no problems" pop-up as well. So no matter how I try to kill the beast, it lives. Next step is a total uninstall, clean registry and directory(s) and re-install.

After an uninstall, registry combing and a reinstall the situation is solved.
