Thinkvantage Toolbox - Microsoft and Lenovo Update buttons dont work

Lenovo Toolbox recently updated itself and now the Microsoft and Lenovo Update buttons don't work. They don't do anything when you click on them.

This buttons doesn't work on the Toolbox Latest Version:

Microsoft Update Button and  Lenovo Update Button doesn't work after installing latest Toolbox Software 20. of Mai 2010.

What do I do?

Hi,
can you please specify the system and the OS version, that you have installed?

When you are starting the Microsfot update, then it should only direct you to an web site like this:
http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

And when you hit the Lenovo update, then it will start the ThinkVantage System update application.

For the first case, make sure, that the Toolbox is not blocked by your antivir, and if it's alowed for your applications to enter internet and use Internet Explorer .

For the second case, make sure, that you have the ThinkVantage System update installed.

I have the same problem too! After I install the latest version of the Toolbox, neither of the update buttons work anymore. No matter which update button I click, no action is taken by the system. I'm using Windows 7.

I can get Windows updates by the default updater of the OS; and the ThinkVantage updater has been installed properly. Just that the update buttons of the Toolbox don't work anymore.

I have the same problem running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (32 bit) OS and a wireless connection. This has been happening for about a week now.

We are investigating this problem. Could you tell me which version of LTT you had when it was working? Which OS (32- or 64-bit) are you running?

I would also like to add that I have had this same issue. I believe that the previous version of the Thinkvantage toolbox was 6.05450.125. The new version 6.05514.60 has the issue where the lenovo update button and the windows update button do not work. The operating system is Windows 7 32-bit.

I would also like to add that we are a Lenovo business partner and we sell several thinkpads every week. This has been a consistant problem. This is not related to any third party software. These computers are straight out of the box, no additional software. no antivirus yet. Every single new Thinkpad SL510 and T510 we have sold in the last few weeks has had this issue.
