Simpletap is too slow to start to be useful. For me to want to use it, it needs to react as fast as the quicklauch menu. It seems that once you've started it once, it will start up quickly if you start again soon after, but not if you haven't used it for a while. I guess win 7 is dumping it out of memory and has to re-load it from the pagefile. I have x61t w/ 2gb ram.

This is exactly how I found my way to this site... I was trying to find out if others were experiencing SimpleTap in the same way that I was. In fact, I find pretty much every single Lenovo utility too slow to be really useful on my X201T (and X61T, X60T, and X41T before that). It's too bad, because they offer some really useful functionality.

+1 - Thought it was just me. SimpleTap 2.0's start up is way slower than the original one. Also, the tiles seem to have a mind of their own, rearranging themselves (perhaps due to frequent changes in tablet screen orientation), and the wavy background pixellates. I like the functionality and the separate workspaces, but 4-5 seconds is just way too long to open (and isn't in keeping with the image of a Lenovo laptop that will boot up in time to deploy a parachute). Still love the X201T tablet, and will use SimpleTap 2.0 for my home computer, but keeping the original version for work.

Can you guys please try the following, if you think SimpleTap is too slow:
1. Open a command prompt window as an administrator (Run as administrator)
2. cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
3. ngen update
Additionally, on 64-bit systems:
4. cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727
5. ngen update
Please let me know if you think this makes things better or not. Thanks!

I've got the same problem.
I tried the ngen update and get the errors below.

Regardless of the errors from "ngen update", did you notice any improvement in SimpleTap performance?
Is SimpleTap slow when you're running on battery power, or on both battery power and AC?

You can also try to use Window Mobility Center in the control panel which provides similar functionality.
Give it a flick command and it shall be similarly useful in tablet mode.
