DVD Burner not working

Hi

As the notebook arrived everyting worked.

Now i wanted to burn a DVD with cdburnerXP as always bit it says : no device found.

i deleted the DVD driver, restarted, installed cdburner again and other tools but none

is recognizing the burner.

when im inserting a CDR it asks me what i want to use. 

if i use windows to burn, i can do that. Windows is offering also cdburner but

with no luck. 

when inserting a dvd, windows asks to open it as USB drive or DVD drive.

what can i try?

Have you tried removing the DVD Burner from the laptop and re-seating it? to confirm it's properly connected?

Maybe try different software. Try IMGBURN it's free.

OK, thank you. i tried imgburn and it works. i found that CDburnerXP doesnt like SATA drives in ahci mode.

i would have to deactivate this in bios.

so i tried ashampoo 2012 which is (free right now) and it works too.

no need to change anything.
