Display brightness in the power manager is lower then the actual Windows settings

Hello together,

i have a problem withe the brightness settings of my w520.

Ich have configured a brightness of 5 in the powermanager. when i apply  these setting, the brightness is set to 7. what ever i configure, this value is always higher by 2. the higher value is the same as the value in the windows system settings. reinstalling the powermanager and the graphics driver don't help. has anybody an idea? is there a registry key for this?

i hope you can help me, because its pretty annoying!

Thank a lot and have a nice day :-)

with kind regards

Does it work normally if you use the Fn+Home/Fn+End keys?

Well, if you need to reset the windows powerplan settings you can use powercfg -restoredefaultschemes (from elevated command prompt). This may aid your troubleshooting. You can also reset individual power plans. Look at powercfg /?.
