Hi I want to buy a Lenovo thinkpad w520 with the 1399 $ config but I am not sure its the good choice. I want a very powerful laptop and very durable for keep it at least four years, I would play games like battlefield 3,dead space 2 and also for my work and I want to also make some programs with the c++ language and try to make some games. I would also use it for my travel to my travel (good batterie duration and rugged) It is the good choice, Thanks for your comments !

Best laptop I have ever had.
It is the most powerful laptop (weighing less than 6lbs) on the market with the best display (if you get the 1920x1080 screen).
Go for it!
(You may want to change the HDD for an SSD later on)

I second the vote for the HiDef screen: 1920x1080. I love mine.
I recommend that you read the excellent posts about installation of an "mSATA" drive in the PCI slot located under the keyboard as a separate board connected through wires to the motherbaord. If you plan to do that install don't order any WLAN card, as you'd have to take that out to have the mSATA.
mSATA will give you an overall faster machine and very quick boot times while leaving you with the existing platter-spinning hard drive for lots of storage. There are a lot of posts (from late Fall and early winter 2011) with plenty of detailed help.
The Intel 310 mSATA was my choice. Il n'y a pas aucune problèm depuis quatre mois! ...pas tros cher pour le vitesse.

it is realy impotant to have FHD screen?,it is very better the quadro 2000 than the 1000 I also want to play some game like BF3 ! and if I remove 1333 Mhz ram for put 1600 Mhz ram did the computer accept it or he will down speed it to 1333 Mhz, and he have big difference with better wifi cards and the GPS comme whith the computer ? I know i have a lot of question, thank you for your time and your answer ![]()

i just placed an order for a w520:
2760qm
4gb of ram (but i already ordered 12gb)
320gb hdd(already ordered ssd, ships tomorrow)
1600x900 (regret not getting the FHD)
stock graphics card (waste of money IMO to upgrade to the 2gb)
I am super worried about shipping delays, the fact that it says it won't ship until 3/5/12 is bad enough
does it reall take 3 weeks to pull parts off a shelf and build a laptop?!?!
