My brand new W510 laptop takes forever to repair

I am very upset with my W510 experience. I received my w510 on the 28th of June, get my hands on it for just 3 days. Then after a restart my screen just turned into plain white, no matter what I did I just can't fix it. So I turned my laptop into a service provider and after around 4~5 days They called me and suggested me to get my laptop replaced because they can't fix it but to be honest I installed some professional programs in it which already cost me more than the price of the laptop. Then I decided to try the depot service, shipped my laptop on the 13th of July, and by tracking number I knew they got it on the 14th of July, I was expecting they can fix it for like a week or two but what I got is a call from their service department told me, because there is a back-order of my replaced part so I probably get my computer on the 1th or 2th of the August. I thought OK as long as I can get it back, then I wait until the 2th of august, and called them again, they said there is a slight  delay of my part but they will get it on 5th of the August, then 5th of the August , same trick , a” slight delay” to 10th of the August. I thought OMG, again? But what can I do? Then called them on 10th, which is today, now this time the service representative can't give me an ETA.

So summarize my experience with my W510, got it on 28th of June and turned in to reparation on 11th of July, get the laptop back on 8th of July, called the support again on 9th of July, shipped to depot service on 13th of July, wait until 2th of August, wait again until 5th, wait again until 10th, now they don’t even know what’s happened.

My old Acer 8xxx series worked with me for 4 years and never had anything wrong, but my brand new w510 just with me for 3 days then followed with a almost 40 days of reparation, and all my effort, and all the trouble I had brings me a huge inconvenience on my work, and in a world which digital products depreciates every week the huge lost I had, I may decide never buy the Lenovo product again.

A Lenovo support employee told me that Lenovo first brings new products onto the market and only later on spare parts are made available so it's possible that you have to wait for a while when a new product needs repair.

You could try sending a message to Mark_Lenovo on this forum, he may be able to lend a hand. It can take a while for him to respond because he gets buried in numerous requests.

I can see where that would be a problem for you, 0192019201. If the failed part is the system board, then click on the following links to determine what wait times W510 users have been experiencing for system board replacements:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=site%3Alenovo.com+replace+OR+repair+OR+service+w510+motherbo...

and

If the offer is still in effect that they made to you to send you a new laptop, you might want to accept that. Here in the U.S., at least, the shipping time for a new W510 is 9 days. So it may be faster to get a new W510 than to wait for Lenovo to send back-ordered replacement parts to fix your broken W510. Especially if the service center doesn't know when those parts will be available. And if you explain to your software vendors that your previous laptop died, then they should be able to arrange for you to install your software on the replacement machine without paying a penalty.

Good luck!
