This new order was placed on 9/8. Does anyone have any thoughts on what are the chances of it shipping on time? (I know I have a 9 cell battery, and I don't know what else Lenovo is running low on...)
My CSR told me it would ship out "by the end of the week" meaning by the end of the day on Friday, 9/12, I hope.
Is it worth waiting or should I cancel and go to BestBuy or something like that... I can't go that much longer without this laptop.

Actually, I sorta cheated.. I priced out the one I wanted on Lenovo site then called resellers that where with in the UPS ground next day range that had the closest configuration I was looking for.. and actually I got 1 gig less ram then I was looking for but a faster processor and faster spin hard drive. In the wash I think I made out really good. I ordered after 3pm so I missed my shipping time but had it pritty much next day.
Ordering from the site is nice, but I didn't want to wait for shipping. I researched alot of notebooks too I am very happy with the W500 and this one is retiring three other laptop computers I own

(I just want to start a thread on optimizing it for Vista 64)

My w500 is schedule to deliver this Thursday and arrived next Thursday. I called customer service beginning last week, almost daily, till today, just to make small change to my shipping address. However the package already shipped this yesterday morning from China via UPS, still with the WRONG shipping address. EVEN I CALLED DAILY and they said they will change it!
Everyday is a suprices. All agent apologize, made new excluses, ask me to do this and that, which I do most of them but are simply redundant. One example: How in the world will you ask me to change my debit card primary address from my home to my (business) shipping address just so you verify? When I ask "will you garantee it will work" you didn't say yes, only said "it should be ok". That's not the answer to a customer.
I try not to show my anger but there's seriously wrong with the ordering process, business structure. For my situation I had to take time to dial the **bleep** phone number (no message recording or email) during my business trip and its really just ticked me off physically and mentally.
Am I doing something wrong? For those who need to make adjustment after you place order do you had similar problems? I was going to cancel my order but they won't let me, said they want a percent of my money as re-stock fee eventhough the whole situation is Lenovo's inability to perform customer request right in the beginning....

I selected ground shipping, and according to UPS, it is currently going by UPS Wordwide Express. Since this is an international shipment, they are forced to upgrade the shipping.
