I ordered a W700 on 10/14/2008. At first it said my order would ship out by the 21st.....then it said the 25th NOW it doesnt even show a shipping time!!!!!! I spent a 1/2 hr on hold and still havent talked to a rep! Am I even going to receive this item? And WHEN?
I have been using a loaner and need my laptop YESTERDAY! Please help!!!!!!!!

I finally got through to Lenovo, my W700 is not scheduled to ship until the 28th of October. They say the batteries are on backorder!
I'm very disappointed but I guess it cant be helped.
I NEED this computer! Should I cancel my order and get one locally? Costco.com can get me out a custom HP shipped out in 3 days....... It wouldnt have the wuxga screen or the built in wacom tablet or the color calibrator (who knows how accurate it is though) but it would be $1200 LESS.

If you need it faster, try CDW which usually would have some models in stock that may fit your needs. I'm sure there are other places also that may stock some w700s. You check the Tabook to see if a ready made model is close to what you need.
Edit note: BLT.com has many of the topsellers in stock

SYS.4058CT CONFIGURED SYSTEMMy W500 system was ordered on September 29, escalated to an executive team (along with many other laptops) due to a issue in transfering order information to the service team -- i.e. my info was lost or something of that nature.
I'm told the best compensation that is available for the inconvenience is a 10% discount (this took me talking with 5 people to find out) which is much less of a benefit to me than canceling the order and buying from a reseller (or BestBuy, CostCo, Staples, etc.) that can get me something by tomorrow -- almost a month past order date with no ETA is unacceptable, and as a long-time power-user of thinkpads, I thought I'd never go elsewhere; yet, this is all it takes to tip a loyal customer.
I thought to post this information to better the customer relations at Lenovo. I would (as many users have posted here) like a more direct answer from customer service when I ask for details on the problems and whereabouts of my system. Not being able to put my call through to someone who knows more is absolute hogwash.

Well folks, here is the first delay:
Despite the online order status still indicating Oct. 20 as ship date, my rep. advised that it has been pushed back until the 28th. He said he would attempt to expedite the order and will let me know status tomorrow.
Looks like I might be joining the club of unhappy customers, even before I become one. Will keep everyone informed, for what it's worth.
10/21/08 Update:
Online Status System now reports Estimate Shipping Date as 10/30/08. Phone call to my rep. was not returned. Things are not looking so good. If I wanted to be given the run-around, I could have ordered from Dell. Hoping tomorrow will yield better news.

When did you place your order? If it's been several weeks and you feel stuck, please send me your order number by PM and I'll look into it.
