For those of you who are having significant issues with your W520 (sudden death, inability to wake from sleep, etc), please provide us with your date of purchase.
I would like to know if the series is improving in quality as time wears on. Are early adopters the ones with most problems? Is the production process improving at all? If so, Lenovo should offer to replace machines from earlier in the manufacturing process since there are obviously inherent, permanent problems.
As I said, please post your purchase date. I'm curious to see what becomes clear, if anything.

Interesting. A machine from October that has SSS and a machine from June that doesn't. That theory's out the window it seems.

@martinpr,
What is your machine configuration?

Purchase date may not be entirely accurate, as it depends on the way the purchase was made (e.g. purchased from a store stock room)
The system serial number sticker (bottom of the laptop) will have the year and month printed next to it.

Yes good point. I only ever deal with Lenovo directly on laptop matters so I forget there are other ways of purchasing...Manufacture date is what I was thinking.
