Bought Thinkpad W 500 in May 2009 in Canada. Both system board and hard driver died within two months. Although Lenovo had both replaced for free, they didn't pay for data recovery. Today, the device manager could not detect the graphic card. Don't know how long it will take to get it fixed and don't know what will happan tomorrow and after 1 year.
Crappy product and bad customer services, too.

what did you use your W500 for??? No computer companies pay for data recovery, if they do whom would need to backup data services.

Well, I didn’t put it in the oven but on my desk most of time. I used it for office work (Word, Excel etc, no games). Had two Dell laptops in the past and had no problems. Bought W500 because it was on sale.

An update on my W500 :
Got a phone call from a Lenovo's service partner. The system board has to be replaced, for the second time in less than 4 months. I need it for work but so far it has spent about 1/4 of its lifetime in "hospital". It sucks!

yup agree with your title... that's probably why they've been having 15% and 25% deals. haven't personally experienced it but glad i cancelled my order. Delayed shipment and who knows breaking down in the middle of a deadline? no thnx

@acceskb.....
the discount is just a marketing tool to attract customers, doesn't have anything to do with quality.
So are you saying that you like to pay full price products??
