Can you delete the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update"?

Yes, that was one of the first things I verified, that the directory was gone.

Make sure antivirus is disabled. Without disabling Norton, System upDate would not retreive stuff from the Lenovo servers and update.
