Lenovo,
Please build a W7xxDS series with the new Ivybridge i7 3920XM with the NVIDIA Quadro 5000M or Quadro 5010M. I'm sure there's a good demand for a machine with these specification since the W701DS production ended. A lot of CAD CAM,Aerospace and R&D organisation are hungry for such a machine.

I'd love to see the W730(ds), too but Lenovo appears to have dropped the W7 series permanently ![]()

Any one got a Thinkpad W701ds for sale or know where I can order one?

You can find them on ebay occasionally. But you have to look very closely at the auction description, because many shady sellers put both W700 and W701 in their titles, like here:

Only the 1st one is a W701, and the price is, well fascinating...

Can I ask why the W7 series is essential at all?
Personally I would rather have the same amount of pixels squashed into a 15" screen for a sharper image.
I think Lenovos decision to keep it 15" was a good blend of max power and portability.
I like the idea of the dual screen on the W701ds, would a W530ds work for you?
I think personally if there was to be a 17" model made available that the only advantage to make me consider it is if the screen was IPS and 2560x1600. I would also like higher resolutions than 1080P be eventually available in general from panel makers on 15" or smaller.
With that being said I really need to check out the iPad3 10" 2048x1536 display just out of curiosity.

YES !!!!!!! I second that sentiment!
Please bring back an upgraded W7XX with current specs and an even higher resolution screens!
If this had to be a special order item with premium pricing, so be it
Some of us can do with nothing less. This is, hands down, the finest PC I've ever owned (and I've had several hundred, back to 1976).
