Incase Lenovo Management is lurking;
I placed an order for a W510 BTO/CTO machine on 1/19/11 on the EPP, all indications on the order from Lenovo were claiming a ships within 8 business days. The initial ship date estimate when the order was fully accepted and funded was on 1/31/11 which was generally on time. About 5 business days latter I got an email indicating the ship date slipped to 2/9/11. Fortunately, I left some slack in my schedule, so I'm not hurting for this computer due to the delay.
The points I would make to Lenovo Management in my case is "under promise and over deliver", had I not left some slack in my schedule, I would be quite disappointed in my Lenovo experience (i'm mildly disappointed now), and might ultimately be disappointed yet until I get a confirmed ship date.
Currently the BTO/CTO ships within dates are 13 business days, and the Intel 160 GB Intel SSD (part of my machine) has dropped off the available configuration, but there was no indication in the order or subsequent communications that this was part of my delay. On a a BTO/CTO with Dell, a delay was accompanied by an explanation for the reason of the delay, so I would also say to Lenovo, an informed consumer is a happy consumer.
I will say in comparison, I have ordered Apple machines that were CTO/BTO that had shorter ship date estimates, and in my personal experiences the actual shipping dates were early. I will give Lenovo some slack, as the CTO/BTO with these machines have a lot more options than most Apple products.

Well;
Call it Karma, but after my original post, I got an email moments ago indicating my system that was originally promised to ship on 1/31/11, subsequently promised to ship on 2/9/11, has now in fact shipped on 1/31/11!
I'll update later when I get a info from UPS on the actual delivery date.

Mine had an estimated ship date of 2/10/2011 (and the ordering system said ships within 8 days), was ordered on 1/24/2011, shipped on 1/28/2011, and is on track to be delivered tomorrow. I think that their automated order system adds time to the initial estimate as a buffer.

Got the notification from UPS - delivery on 2/3/11 by the end of the day. UPS/Lenovo sprung for air service from KY to FL.

Woe is me.
W510 4318CT Configured System ordered on 1/30/2011, original predicted ship date was to be Feb. 17th
Already bummed out that it was going to take longer than the *estimated delivery time of 14 days, had no choice but to bite the bullet and wait.
Just checked my status today and the delivery has been pushed back to March 2nd!! Called in to ask what the source of the delay was and told the build was sent to assembly and sent back to warehouse on Feb. 4th. It has been sitting there ever since with no mention of parts shortages.
Anyone else having issues with their configured systems? I did happen to catch the free multi-touch FHD display which is the only option I could think of that would cause a back ordered parts issues (since they were offering them for free, I would hope they had the inventory to suport the special!) I didn't order a SSD, only the 500gb 7400rpm hard drive (which was also another free upgrade).
This 15W sleeve has been sitting on my desk for a couple weeks now, mocking me with its presence. Needed this laptop before a business trip and was assured on-time delivery when I called before placing the order. Looks like I'll be bringing my trusty T60p with the hive of bees as a cooling fan.

I ordered a configured system Feb. 4 and received today (California). But I did not get the multitouch screen, so I'm betting that's it. Good luck.

I have the same issue. And they told me it was just a system error. So what I can do now is to wait.
