Re: W500 2560x1600 pixels support

I would like to report that DP to HDMI only supports 1920 x 1200. on the Dell 3008WFP.

Is this because of the DP to HDMI adapter?

So if I have a DP to DP cable it would support 2560 x 1600?

Re: W500 2560x1600 pixels support

Hi Anders_HK,

Could you send me information about how I can contact "DisplayPort @ VESA's contact at Lenovo?" I want to know whether the DisplayPort connection of the Ultrabase of the X200s supports 2560x1600 using a hypothetical DP to DVI Dual Link adapter. I think what this boils down to is whether the X200s supports DisplayPort dual mode.

Thanks

Re: W500 2560x1600 pixels support for NEC 3090WQXi

Just a quick follow up to this thread - the W500 does indeed support 2560x1600 via dual link dvi and the advanced dock.  Just plugged it all in today and it works just fine.  I'm running Vista 32 Enterprise and had to download the latest driver through WIndows Update and it works as expected.

Re: W500 2560x1600 pixels support

Hello, new to the forum, looking to purchase a W500 for it's displayport capabilities.. I know this may sound a little redundant, but I did read the previous mesages, but I'd like to clarify the following:

"DisplayPort
- W500 supports DisplayPort up to 2560x1600 resolution.
"

My question is ( I know this may sound a little redundant, but just to be clear):

a) Has anyone else verified this?  That using a displayport (DP) cable connected from the W500's DP to the DP port on the monitor, 2560x1600 can be obtained using the ATI video option/setting?  Without the use of enhanced port replicators, or cable converters..

b) My 'dual mode' query... does the 2nd/external monitor become extended? Or does the external monitor take over the W500 display, disabling it?  i.e. is it possible to run both in extended mode, i.e. 1920x1200 on the W500 AND 2560x1600 on the external monitor?  How is the graphics performance in this condition?  Especially 3D work/play?

c) what operating systems does the 'dual' combination work with, if in fact, it (b) works?

Thanks!

HDMI's spec is only 1920x1080 to TV or 1920x1200 to computer.   anything going to HDMI will be limited to 1920x1200 maximum per spec.

the maximum displayport resolution supported on current thinkpads is 2048x1536 as stated in the thinkpad PSREF sheet.

2048x1536 is the max.

correct.   thinkpads with DVI output can support a full 2560x1600 over dual-link DVI-D.

a) the W500 supports 2048x1536 over displayport and VGA.   it supports 2560x1600 over dual-link DVI-D.

b) the W500 can support both an internal and external display.   if you need 1920x1200 internal + 2560x1600 external then you'll need to use native dual-link DVI-D.   displayport or VGA will limit your external resolution to 2048x1536.

c) windows or linux.

Re: W500 2560x1600 pixels support

Re: W500 2560x1600 pixels support[ New ]

I have an advanced dock and a  W500 with ATI & Intel Graphics. Is it possible to support two 30 inch LCD via the advanced dock  at their native resolution of 2560 x 1600?

If so what PCIe graphics card is required?  Is it possible to drive the two LCDs at lower resolutions but greater than 1280x800?

I am currently running the ATI

I can get 2560x1600 on one monitor but only 1280x800 on the other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: W500 2560x1600 pixels support

Hi,

Can anyone please confirm that you can use an Advanced Mini Dock (250410U) with a W500 and connect to a 2560x1440 display via Dual Link DVI?

I currently have a w500 and am looking to buy a Dell U2711 2560x1440 display and would really like to know it'll work!

Thanks!
