W500 Rescue Media

Since I have purchased and received my Lenovo W500 Laptop, I have been trying to create my backup rescue media.

Unfortunately I am unable to create it VIA. DVD's because I do not have a DVD burner, and when trying to use CD's I got three CD's into the process before receiving a 'failure' message.

My next alternative option was an external Hard Drive, which I have now purchased to store movies, music, TV shows and my rescue data.

Unfortunately I am unsure of whether I have all the data I need, and if I do, then how to initiate the recovery process. The partition takes approximately 6GB of space, and I have only copied 1GB of Data.
