W500 and vista questions

I am new to vista and lenovo. I would like to know how to stop programs from arranging themselves in alphabetic order in the programs start up bar? Another question I have is how do you turn off the beep sound that goes off when you power your pc up from sleep mode? Thanks for any answers.

rake4, welcome to the forum,

 

you can turn the "beep" of in BIOS. Press F1 at boot and navigate to Config > Beep and Alarm > Power Control Beep, you need to set this to disabled.
