I've found out (both empirically and theoretically) that ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 is not supported in Revit 2011. This is really depressing, also because I mistakenly didn't buy T61p which has about the same performance but also has a nVidia card, which doesn't have problems in Revit. Also it seems like the graphic driver for Vista is the oldest - I'm still using it! Why does XP user have a newer driver.
Anyway, I'm about to purchase W510. Can someone confirm that it's graphics card can be enabled in Revit 2011?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi lukaszsw,
The New Autodesk Requirements state that you need 3.20GHz and 8MB L3 Turbo or Equivalent,
Read the 64-bit Requirements.
And I have spoken with Autodesk Subscription Center, about the W701 and my configuration,
and my system meets and beats the Requirements.
To enable the 3GB Switch in Revit 2011.
By default windows only allows 2GB per program like Revit, MS Office, etc…
And you need to install as much RAM as passable @ the highest speed like 1333MHz
I hope this helps,

Well, it is not about the requirements and if the system beats them. Also speaking with subscription center is not the same as using the program - the fix for Revit 2011 was released shortly after I posted.
To answer my own question - nVidia graphics card in W510 has no problems with Revit 2011. Also their public drivers provide support for OpenGL 3.0 - I don't know how much does it factor in but W500 with ATI card and latest Lenovo driver for Vista never achieved this (and I had some weird graphical glitches in Revit).
So to sum up nVidia fx 880m in W510 is great and I hope Lenovo will always have an nVidia card option in it's professional lineup.
