W510 (3818 CTO) CPU Windows experience index

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if anyone can help here. I have Win 7 Professional (64bit) running on my W510. The processor is an i7 Q 820 at 1.73Ghz. Windows is currently showing that it has a rating of 2.5 on the Windows experience index because the processor is only rated to 2.5. The information I have found around other areas states that this CPU should have 7.1 on the index.

My BIOS is ver 1.37 and the problem was there with version 1.34.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know the fix?

Cheers,

WWAN

1. Set power plan to high performance.

2. Install the battery.

Re: W510 (3818 CTO) CPU Windows experience index

I'm assuming you mean the usual battery and not some interior battery.

With the battery installed and the system running at max performance with AC plugged in on the docking station (135W supply).

The reading is still 2.5. :smileysad:

I have limited access to the functions of Win 7 through company network security protocols could this restrict an update?

Thanks for the reply. I'm still looking in to this.

What's DOS?

Re: W510 (3818 CTO) CPU Windows experience index

I notice this is quite an old post but I am sitting on 2 w510 laptops that I have recently revived (reinstalled) - both posting as 2.5 on the performance index.
Anyone?
