W510 Removed?

I am trying to configure a W510 ThinkPad. However, it appears to have been removed from the website. It was there a couple of days ago, but not anymore. Anyone else having the same problem? I tried to access the site from two different computers thinking it ma be a cache issue, but I only get the w500 and w700 laptops. Any help on this? I also have not been able to find a PDF spec sheet for the W510. If the laptop has been removed, will it come back soon? Thanks.

Re: W510 Removed?

Here's a spec sheet for the 510:

http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/tabook.pdf

(see pages 103 - 105)

Can't answer any of your questions beyond that.

Well that is discouraging to say the least... At least with Dell, you know the specs and what is available (and when it is available) when you place the order...  This was going to be my first IBM/Lenovo. But it looks like it may not happen if the purchase experience is going to be this dreadful...

And why can't the Spec sheet be on the same page???! That's just bad marketing...

Re: W510 Removed?

Something must be wrong with your order - my pre-order for a W510 was not cancelled and I called CS to confirm that all is on schedule - they noted no issues.  Estimated ship date is 12Feb10

:smileysurprised: read what you wrote  "12th feb!!!" that's more than 4 weeks?! Doesn't it tell you that you might be just lucky still in the queue? It could be true both ways. I will investigate. but I think there is a reason they removed the W510

T410 with FHD 1900x1080 screens

all on offer now are the 1600 15"4 s

Lenovo make mighty big mistakes for a good lounch in my opinion.

I hope you are incorrect about it being a production-wide issue.  I have ordered 3 other Lenovo's in the past, right at announcement and launch time, and each of the three of them also incurred a 4-6 week wait from order.  Just the cost of being an early adopter is what I chaulk it up to...

Re: W510 Removed?

I think the delay is perfectly acceptable since:

a - it is a brand new model, just announced

b - the site itself never indicated that shipping was immediate.  It noted right on the original configuration page that the wait was 4 weeks+
