Dear all and Lenovo technical team,
I've got my W520 since august, and I love it very much. However, I didn't notice my laptop is faulty until I do bios update suggest. Since I have bios 1.26 and higher, I start to intermittently experience blue screen 0x0000124 (you can see this dump file).

Raksan,
I looked at your dump file. I think it is possible that you may have faulty hardware, but I don't know for sure. What are your CPU temps when this happens? How much RAM is installed in your system and have you tried removing all but one of the DIMMs to see what happens?
I would also recommend to download and run the diagnostics here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.p

someotherguy,
It happens at random cpu temp. I even run TPfanControl to keep the blow fan to keep temp 60C - 70C but it still error. It sometimes happend when the cpu is cool (45-50C). So I don't think it's temperature related. I'm currently have only one 4GB ram (Micron PC3-10700), do you ask me the rotate the dimm location or replace the RAM?
I will try to run the diagnostic and report back.
Thank you for your support.

I think it would be worth trying to move the DIMM to another slot for experimental purposes. But definitely run the diagnostics first. If they report a problem then it should be really easy to call the tech support people in your country and get the problem fixed by warranty.

Last night I let PC Doctor run normal diagnostic and everything PASSED. I've saved the log file but I didn't know where to find. By the way, I was using bios 1.25. I'll update the bios to 1.32 and let it run again overnight to see if it's still pass. I'll report after this.

Dear someotherguy,
Last night, I update to bios 1.32 and I let the pc doctor do the diagnostic and again everything PASSED. And then I run windows 7 and make computer run in high performance and turned Turbo Boost on. I then played Need for speed: carbon for half an hour, CPU temperature went up to 92 degree C (for a short period of time) and fall back to 70+. Then I play Warcraft 3: Dota for half an hour, then came the BSOD 0x124 again. I attached the dump file and I'm positive it is the same problem as my other blue screen.
Please help me solve the problem.
Thanks.

I have a feeling it MAY be Windows. The dump says HAL.DLL and NTOSKRNL.EXE were at fault.
Can you run an SFC /SCANNOW from an elevated command prompt?
C:\Windows\system32>SFC /SCANNOW
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
C:\Windows\system32>
I think windows is okay.

Hi, Raksan,
Do you have any other DIMM you could swap in?

Hi ZipZap, no I don't have any other RAM. Do you suspect it? Btw, from your signature we have very similar w520, does yours run great so far?
