W520 SATA III 6Gb/s SSD suddenly running at SATA II 3Gb/s?

You could revert to the older BIOS as a test to see if that is the case...

I used the bios update tool and flashed the bios, no change.

I might clone all my data off the SSD, install a fresh copy of windows back onto it and see if its maybe a driver or windows issue.

You're right, for some reason I thought mine was a Vertex.

To the OP can you post benchmarks of the drives in sata3 and now in sata2?
Curious what the difference previously and now.

Luckily I had an old benchmark from back when I first intalled the drive.

Here it is from when I first installed the drive and it was operating correctly in SATA III mode.

And here it is now running in SATA II.

I rolled back to BIOS version 1.36.  Still running at 3Gb/s so we can rule that out.

I ran crystalmark on my 120GB Vertex3 in my W510.

I was getting better results than you, do you think there's maybe a problem with your drive?

Have you made all the relevant windows changes?

Those write speeds are horrendous. Even my old Sandforce SF-1200 based drive gets nearly double your best write speed (275MB/s).
