I did a clean install of win7 on a new w520 (with 160gb SSD and 32gb ram memory) and after the clean install I have only 74.gb free space out of 148gb on my C:drive (( note: i didnt partition the harddrive)
usually it is supposed to be 128gb free space out of 148gb after a clean install of win7,
so where did up to 50gb disappear to??
anyone seen this type of problem before? I am lost
help please

I'm thinking the same thing as Harris. Also, make sure you get rid of the page file. This accounts for an additional 32GB.

please how do I disable hibernation? from power options? or is there a setting in BIOS I am supposed to disable.
I already freed up 30GB from "paging file" thanks for that!

I used posercfg.exe /hibernate off command to disable hibernation and I cleared up the page file and everything is back to normal
thanks you very much for your help
