How do you uninstall the drivers and get the (working) windows ones? I tried this:
Reboot.
But when it comes up, it still has the rubbish conexant drivers - I cant see how to get it to pick up windows drivers.
Any ideas?

Try installing the Realtek High Defintion Audio Driver for Windows 7 package on the ThinkPad W530 Drivers and Software page.
Btw, this should solve problems 5 and 6 on your signature.

I have the Edge E430 model and the sound is alright and the microphone works out of the box. Do you know if the guides here are still relevant and can provide some audio improvements?
FYI, the new Edge models come with the Conexant HD Audio driver and Dolby Home Theater v2, which I suppose is not so different from v4: http://www.dolby.com/us/en/consumer/technology/pc/

thanks "Disable audio enhancements" seems to have fixed it for me as well.
