2756 on battery with the current BIOS is quite good. What is your configuration? (I bet you have an SSD.)
(You may want to put your configuration in your signature.)

Yes, there is an Intel 310 mSata 80GB SSD installed.

I will NOT install power managment driver on my machine because it regularly blue screens the machine. That said, CPU-z shows my machine frequently capped at 800MHz - 998 MHz.

Dear Lenovo,
I think this situation is not acceptable.
I my case, when I moved the bios to max performance for Battery, the laptop starting giving me the low speed of the battery even when connected to the AC!
I think Lenovo should work very hard to release a patch.
The problem is very simple, no need to check any software. Just run on Battery and you get a terrible performance.

Supposedly this is now corrected in BIOS v1.32. See http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Lapt
I have not implemented that BIOS, yet.

Hi,
I´ve got the same problem like everyone here with bad performance on battery. Also several other things.
Now I tried to give back the notebook to my dealer, but he told me that Lenovo said, that this is a function and no failure.
That´s the reason, why I can´t get back my money.
I´m really disappointed because I need this laptop for business and edu.
I´m waiting now 3 weeks for a positive answer (because I must use the laptop with performace also with no batteries and that´s the reason why is not usable for me), although I have nex day garantee...
Can someone from Lenovo inform me if it the normal procedure letting their customers stay in the rain?

Please apply BIOS 1.32. This fixes TurboBoost when cold booting on battery. You must keep the battery in the system when on AC if you want to use TurboBoost as well. Hope this helps.

Where did you get that link/BIOS from? I am using the BIOS Version 1.27 and when I check for updates with the ThinkVantage Toolbox, it doesn't find any new versions of the BIOS. When I check the update section on the Lenovo website, it only offers me to download the BIOS Update Utility V1.30?
