W700 compatibility with new Intel 310 (Soda Creek) SSD

[ Edited ]

The Intel 310 offers an mSATA interface delivered over a PCIe bus.  Does anyone know if this device could be used as a replacement for the anemic Intel 2 GB TurboCache which shipped with my W700 model 2757-cto?

If so, could it be used as a boot device?

Any help would be appreciated; I'd really hate to buy one and then discover that it doesn't work or, worse yet, damaged the W700.
