Hello,
if you reformatted your disk with xp recovery media cd´s then XP is on this partition.
You had to create vista recovery dvd´s before restoring to XP factory conditions.
If you are in warranty may be call support to get vista recovery media.
Try press F11 at start up, then you´ll see what kind of os comes up.
