flashing indicator?

the indicator(cylinder icon) next to blue tooth indicato under the screen (w520) flashes erratically,ive consulted the manuel which doesnt seem to offer any explanation - any ideas?

Hello tinysally.

 

the indicator is working as designed.

 

It shows the read and write activity of your harddrive. The flashing is pretty normal, because newer Windows versions never stops the hdd, so it keeps working all the time.
