One day last week I was working and I got a message from R&R that it cannot perform its backup because it can't find the drive. I'm using a maxtor onetouch II usb hard drive. It appears in device manager, but does not appear in my computer. I tried updating the driver, uninstalling, rebooting, etc, none of which help. Sometimes I get a "device cannot start code 10" message, sometimes it says working properly but still won't assign a letter. Disk Management doesn't show the device.
I'm running a W700 with Windows 7.
