Re: Brightness forced to minimum - can't turn it up

Thanks radh77 you have found the issue.  I just downgraded the graphics driver and everything works now! It was driving me nuts.

3000 N100: [Windows 7] Brightness control slide bar stuck on Mobility Settings

I test Install Windows 7 x64 on this Notebook, of course it is RTM 7600.13685.

All condition is running well.

But there is an mulfunction on Brightness Control at Windows Mobility Settings (Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> "Adjust commonly used mobility settings").

As shown in picture:

Brightness Control Error

I can't drag more than 28% on the Display Brightness Sliding Bar.

If I drag over, it will drop back to 0% (the minimum),

Of course I have installed Hotkey Driver on this Notebook to enable the Special Key function on the notebook keyboard.

The Special Key on keyboard can be pressed the Brightness upto Maximum that Brighter than the 28% of its maximum.

But it is irresponsitive to the Windows Mobility Settings Panel.

However, the Brightness can be set upto 100% in [Battery Settings] -> "changed plan".

And it is function.

I didn't test yet to uninstall the Hotkey Driver (If do the Hotkey on keyboard is not function anymore).

Besides, there is no Uninstall option in Uninstall Program list.

And, I didn't install Power Management Driver from Lenovo, since the driver is quite old that released on 2007.

So I didn't know it takes effect not. I'll go a test after this.

Hopefully Lenovo can fix this or may update on the Hotkey Driver.

Re: 3000 N100: [Windows 7] Brightness control slide bar stuck on Mobility Settings

Problem solved.

I  was confused with Hotkey Driver Installation dialog message, it is controlled by UAC.

The first time I clicked "6hvu20ww.exe" file, it was just extracting the package to C:\[DRIVER] folder.

But the UAC shown the misleading message that asking if the installation correctly.

I was misunderstood.

Actually the driver had not been installed.

After the Hotkey Driver installed, the Mobility Settings runs correctly.

BTW, there is another problem is,

The Power Management Driver (PM Driver) would not be installed the correctly.

After installed, there is Missing Library after restarts.

"PMHandler.exe - System Error

The program can't start because PMEBLib.dll is missing from your computer.

Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

refer picture: PMHandler.exe - System Error

After 2 times testing, I decide to uninstall the PM Driver.

It is rather old.

Re: Brightness forced to minimum - can't turn it up

I have a T500 and tried all the drivers and re-installs in various order.  What finally worked for me was the BIOS update that was released this month (October 2009).  Now brightness is back again!
