I've had the same sound problem since installing the 64-bit RC of Windows 7 yesterday. The system says sound is working fine, but I have no sound coming out of the internal speakers or using the headphone jack. The installed driver is Digital Audio (S/PDIF). I downloaded the file that brianchoi referred to in his earlier post, but no luck after running the installer.

Well done for the "SoundMax" type sound system. It seems the number of Lenovo 3000N100 with this system can work with the known Vista drivers.
Unfortunately this is NOT the solution for the other part of 3000N100 using "Realtek High Definition Audio" :-(
Does anybody know a solution for 3000N100 with "Realtek sound"? Please help!
I have the fear, even Windows 7 RTM will not help!?
Without special Lenovo Driver Support no chance??
Hope the community can help.

Hi There
I have exactly the same problem and i have tried everything but still remains the same I am sure that Lenovo has to release a updated sound driver for Windows 7.

Same for me - I've got a 0689 AU unit and have tried all of the above and none work. I should probably check the site again, seeing W7 was released today...

I've tried several times with the same result - no sound. The "Mixer" shows sound bouncing up and down but nothing comes out of the speakers. Model 06896AU.
Lenovo people - should I expect a driver or will my N100 be mute?

Okay guys here go the fix for the Realtek
