Re: New ThinkPad 420 replacing an XP Pro laptop which was ethernetted to my Windows 7 Pro desktop.
Via my desktop I could directly access my D\ drive on the old XP laptop. It appeared in the Network folder in Explorer.
Now in the desktop I just get a list of the libraries on the ThinkPad. I have never used or needed libraries so, how do I configure the ThinkPad to make its newly created D\ drive accessible from my desktop?

Hello and welcome,
Have you enabled sharing on D:? Rt click -> sharing.
You may also need to adjust security settings on one or both machines.

I had forgotten that. I did have to follow it up with Stanek's Administrator's Pocket Consultant book Horrible screen on the T420 until I disabled the Nvidia stuff though.and downloaded a decent theme
