Thinkpad T520 Modem adapter - Windows x64

Hi, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T520 with Windows 7 x64. The internal modem adapter is unusable due to the following error “This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)”

The error still occurs even after I downloaded and installed the device driver from the lenovo website.

hey dhirenn,

welcome to the forums.

uninstall the current modem driver. windows should then install its own generic drivers, let this happen.

test your modem again with the generic adapter. later, head back to >> http://support.lenovo.com ; download the driver but do not install it yet.

set your unit to diagnostic mode via msconfig, then install the driver which you previously downloaded and try again.
