Switchable graphics works great after new BIOS flash! Install ATI Discrete Drivers. do not install Intel graphics drivers because it disrupt switchable graphics.
The battery life is better, but there might be room for improvement. I'm getting around 3.5 hrs on the battery indicator. Thanks Lenovo for the nice BIOS release. Now please fix APS!

What do you guys mean "flash" your laptop after the BIOS update?
Does it also fix the brightness adjustment issue?
How about the power saving software, any fixes on that with the BIOS update?

My U330 works fine after upgrading new BIOS.
Yes, the new BIOS fix problems such as switchable graphics and brightness adjustment issue. The new BIOS add VT support for U330! So there is no reason to stick on old BIOS.

Same here, mine is grayed out. But I remember using Intel VT check tool a while back and it say VT not supported on mine. Just didn't know that some other U330 machine support it. Processor is Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 @ 2.00GHz.
Switchable graphic is working now and battery life is a bit better, hoping for more though ![]()

Hey guys, I downloaded the new BIOS update and flashed my U330. The brightness works now, as well as the switchable graphics. I do hope that Mark_Lenovo and his team of super engineeers can help us out with the battery life situation. It's still not what it was when I was running Vista.
Steps: Flash the BIOS, then re-Install the ATI drivers... and voila it works.

I'm sorry but I can't figure out how to change to switchable graphics.
Here were my steps:
1. Flash to new BIOS
2. Upon restart, change to Discrete Graphics
3. Install ATI drivers contained in the IN1VDO05WW5.exe file
4. Restart, change to Switchable Graphics
5. Install Intel drivers contained in the IN2VDO15WW5.exe file
6. Restart
Both the Intel GMA and ATI Mobility Radeon are showing up in Device Manager and there is no Switchable Graphics option. Battery life is still well under 2 hours.
I just restarted and changed back to Discrete Graphics and am now achieving around 2.5 hours on a full charge (better than usual), but nowhere near the 5 hour claim I was sold on when I first bought this laptop.
