Re: U330 + Windows 7 Drivers Problem & Solutions

Hi all. I have one question to ask

What is digital out (S/PDIF) on U330 it is optical or coaxial?

I search for information from website they told that it is a optical

but I did try an optical line and there i got no sound from receiver or red light from it.

and now I don't have any coaxial converter to test it. It is broken or it is a coaxial output?

thank you.

AFAIK there is no special optical output on the U330. The SPDIF ouput under Windows is actually the output through HDMI. So you need a HDMI cable which will output audio/video

Re: U330 + Windows 7 Drivers Problem & Solutions

guys, here & here you have some new ati beta drivers....

BUT, those drivers will ALSO install new Intel GPU drivers, just as it will install switch functionality

it even works without any modding, you can only upgrade existing drivers, or you can uninstall old stuff and then install new ones, works both ways, tested here :smileywink:

Thank you Chipster, so the solution to me is to buy a new Receiver. haha

Re: U330 + Windows 7 Drivers Problem & Solutions

@vopoj; the headphone jack on the front of the laptop doubles as an optical miniplug jack as well. Assuming that your receiver has a toslink optical input, you'll probably just need a miniplug-to-toslink cable like this: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022902&p_id=1557&seq=1&for...

Make sure that the device listed in the sound portion of the control panel (there should be 3 devices: Speakers Out, HDMI out, and S/PDIF out) and that it is set to default.

well, If no one can't, I can :smileyvery-happy:

anyway, so far I didn't notice any improvement, except there is option to automaticaly switch to power saving GPU when on battery

I really don't understand how intel gpu drivers are installed via ATI driver

p.s. sorry 4 bad english

guess my only question is, does this solve the going to sleep and waking up with 2 GPUs running problem? or do i still have to manually switch to intel GPU?

Re: U330 + Windows 7 Drivers Problem & Solutions

Feng303,

We are supposed to have a fix for this and I had hoped to be able to attach the files here on Monday along with instructions.  The BIOS was sent over, but was corrupt and so we had to have it resent.

It looks like there is a BIOS and a power manager update.

Sorry for the further delay.  I really want to wrap this up almost as much as you guys.

Mark

Re: U330 + Windows 7 Drivers Problem & Solutions

Hi guys, been awhile since  I checked back here. Sad to report that I am having more issues. The same one that coldlazymo is having. My U330 is getting VERY hot. This is way to hot, and I have been turning it off  to cool it down. The problem only comes about when I go to ATI card. Even if the laptop is idle, it the palm rest gets so hot I am sure i can cook on it . No joke. I cant rest my palm on it due to burning heat.

Also, when I move the screen, even a mm, the computer reacts as if I have plugged in a USB. It makes the sound, and a box pops up saying that my usb can perform faster.  ???

This laptop never used to get hot!! what is going  on here ??
