Upgrade Windows 7 home premium to ultimate

Hi,

 recently I bought Y560 with 64 bit Windows 7 home premium (with i7 & 8GB RAM).

I was told that in order to best utilize the resource the laptop got it is better to go for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Is this true? Is it worth upgrading to Ultimate?

Hi venky,

It's hard to say. It depends whether or not you need/want any of the extra features included in Ultimate. You can find a comparison between Ultimate and Home Premium using the link below. Also remember there are alternatives to those features so if you miss one of them it could be cheaper and better finding another application to perform that single task. There could even be freeware available that can do the same thing.

If you don't miss any of the extra features i would say it's not worth to spend money on a upgrade to Ultimate.

For me, is just the same... except for the "file restore".

My mistake, seams that this feature is in other versions too.
