Use Windows 7 key on a different machine

Recently purchased a T500 which came with Windows 7 Professional downgraded to Windows XP. With two valid keys on this laptop, I am wondering if I can use the Windows 7 key on another Test PC here at the office, or if the key is locked to that laptop.

I did analyze the key with a program and found that the type of key is: OEM:COA

Thanks in advance,

Hunter

I think the key should work on the other computer as long as you use the same version of Windows 7 and install using the same media (if you are able to install through the same media, since some OEM version are for specific systems only) for which the key was assigned. I am not sure it is permitted though. You should check the user agreement.

Oh and you should not use the same key on more than one system; that is surely not permitted.

You are not allowed to use a OEM license on another computer even in this case where you got two keys. If it will work i don't know since i never tried to move a OEM license to another computer, but it's for sure not permitted.
