Re: Win 7 upgrade program - delivery updates

Good news indeed. My order is in the 124000 range, what was yours if it's not too confidential. Mine was also charged on Sunday the 25th. Thanks for any info, more than we're getting otherwise.

Re: Win 7 upgrade program - delivery updates

I'm a little late to the "WTF" party here, but I'm amazed at the incompetence in the way this is being handled.  The academic deals handled through Digital River were botched somewhat (according to resources online and a few friends who participated), but at least they got Win7 to people in a timely fashion.  Also perplexing is the fact that Digital River only charged $7 for a physical copy of the upgrade.

So with Digital River, you get an efficient, timely download with your upgrade and, should you choose, an additional $7 gets you a DVD.  With Mentor Media, you pay $17 for that DVD and no download option at all.  At the rate this is going with MM, I'm beginning to wish I qualified for the student upgrade. (I'd also like to know where that $17 goes, but that's another issue.)

BTW, I put in my order on the 21st and got a "successful payment" message on the 25th.  Nothing since.  That includes a query sent in on the 23rd asking what was going on.  10 business days for customer service!  Nothing like timely responses in this glorious electronic age.

Thanks for the info.  You're the first person who has stated UPS.

Too funny - I have a T500 2081 and ordered Win7 Pro 64-bit as well.  Thanks for the info.

However, I also ordered Win7 Pro 64 for my wife's T400 7417.  Wonder what that will do to my order?

Re: Win 7 upgrade program - delivery updates

Fakelogin,

Thanks for the update!

UPS is being used for US & Canadian orders - (day late and a dollar short finding out on my end).

UPS isn't necessarily the shipper used in every country though.

On the black bar on status - thanks for all the feedback - we've noted  this as a bug and are working with Mentor Media to get this updated, with intentions to display the tracking number in this space.

In some cases shipping charges have been being processed more in advance of the actual shipment than we initially understood, and we are working with Mentor Media to change this process.

Proactive emails for customers in some countries have already been sent, and an update should be going out to for Think and Idea customers today to advise them of overall Windows 7 upgrade status.

Best regards,

Mark

Im not in the US (Im in Sydney AUS) but I thought I'd let people know how my order has progresseed.

03/08/2009 - Registered with upgrade

13/08/2009 - Upgrade validated

26/10/2009 - Payment made

04/11/2009 - Shipment notification

I havent had any changes in my order status update either advising me of the shipment. It still displays a black bar.

Heres some extracts of the shipment email.

This is to inform that your order has been shipped and this completes your order.

You can track the status of this order as follows:

Carrier Track and Trace Website: http://www.eparcel.com.au/
Tracking ID:
Delivery Estimate: 7-9 days

Please note that it may take 2-3 days before tracking ID is available for tracking in the carrier website.

Thank you for placing your order with us.

Theres no tracking information at the moment, but I'll update as soon as something is displayed.
