Re: Windows 7 Beta

here is the link to compatible biometric drivers and software from UPEK...

http://www.upek.com/support/downloads/windows7/w7x64.asp

of course you will want to download the 32bit version if you are running a 32 bit OS.

works like a charm! more functionality than the Lenovo fingerprint software.

Re: Windows 7 Beta SL500 HotKeys

I am trying Win7 (32-bit) on my T60.  The experience has been nothing short of fantastic.  That said, I am stymied by the "error registering server. registry access failure" message from tponscr (using the drivers and software found at MIGR-68000).  I've tried setting the setup program to run with vista compatibility and even running it as administrator.  I have similarly adjusted the compatibility and "run as" settings for the tponscr program.  Yet, I still encounter this error.  Does anyone have a workaround for the T60?

Re: Windows 7 Beta SL500 HotKeys

I was having had exactly the same "error registering server" problem on Win7 x64 when trying to install hotkeys driver on my X61 Tablet. The way I managed to solve it:

Presteps (not sure if they are required, but don't want to roll back to verify :smileywink: ):

1. Make "SETUP.exe" and "LibifX64.exe" run in Vista compatibility mode with administrator privilleges

Steps

1. create a "something.reg" file with the following content:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\Display\shellex\PropertySheetHandlers]

2. Run the file so that the registry key is created

3. Run the hotkeys setup again

It worked for me

Re: Windows 7 Beta SL500 HotKeys

Thanks mogoreanu this method worked for me on my X200s.

However, Fn-F5 doesn't always work, especially after a return from standby/hibernate. Fn-Home and Fn-End (brightness adjust) shows the OSD though.

Re: Windows 7 Beta SL500 HotKeys

Hi guys,

I'm running Win7 RTM on my T60.  Just wondering if anyone has managed to get the on screen display to actually work.. actually display something on the screen when say the volume is changed?
