File and print sharing keep turning off with access connections and Windows 7
I have a thinkpad with Win 7 Pro installed and for some reason the File and Print sharing checkbox for the Ethernet adapter keeps turning off after I reboot or restart the computer...What do you have to do to prevent this from happening?
If you are using Access Connections.
There is a setting in Access Connections which can influence file and printer sharing. If you look at the profile's additional settings there is an entry for network security, file and printer sharing which needs to be activated if you wish to allow sharing in that profile.
Click the settings button next to the checked Network Security box. Select your choices for print and file sharing on the menu that pops up.
This is a feature of AC as it will override the windows settings, you can choose to allow or block in individual profiles; e.g. sharing is allowed at home or in the office, but blocked at the Airport or Hotel.
